About EAPOA

The authority which safeguards the quality of the Psycho-organic Analysis (POA) as an independent method is European Association for Psychoorganic Analysis (EAPOA).

The EAPOA safeguards the quality of POA as regards content and structurally and cooperates with other European and international associations.

As regards content EAPOA safeguards the quality of the POA by promoting the further development of the concepts by conferences and publications.

Structurally EAPOA secures the quality of the POA by defining and protecting unified, Europe-wide obligatory, professional standards at different levels. Procedures and criteria are harmonized in a process under participation of national organisations and training institutes coordinated by EAPOA.

  1. Profession and Title « Psycho-Organic Analyst »

    Psycho-organic analysts have qualified on a postgraduate level (or equivalent professional experiences) by a 5-7-year training in the methods of the psycho-organic analysis.

    Be also more than 300 hours personal analytical work (psychotherapy, teaching analysis) part of this training.

    The title is awarded by the respective national professional organizations which are a members of the EAPOA.
    The right to use the title is bound to the membership in the national professional organization.

    By the membership in this professional organization psycho-organic analysts commit themselves to doing the compliance with the professional ethic and to doing the quality assurance of the work of one’s own by a continuous professional further education.

  2. Supervisors in Psychoorganic Analysis

    On the basis of a practice of one’s own as psycho-organic analysts supervisors meet the valid criteria in psycho-organic analysis.

  3. Training Institutes

    The training institutes which are giving training in psycho-organic analysis at the moment have been authorized by Boyesen Foundation or Paul C. Boyesen, the founder of the method.

  4. Professionel Ethics

    Our ethical guidelines protect clients from a nonprofessional application of therapeutical or analytical methods.

    Our ethical principles prevent different forms of the cheating or abuse (sexually, emotionally, socially, economically, ideologically, spiritually) and psycho-organic analysts commit themselves to discretion, respect and responsibility.

    In its tasks EAPOA cooperates with the European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP).

    Together with the EAP EAPOA issues the euro certificate to psychotherapy (European Certificate for Psychotherapy ECP).

    In EAP EAPOA has the status of a Europeanwide Accrediting organization (EWAO) and is member of the EWOC in EAP.

    EAPOA also supports the Europe-wide recognition of the profession « psychotherapist » as an independent profession according to the Strasbourg declaration.
